Is Sandustry Multiplayer?

Sandustry is currently a single-player game. Steam, GOG, and Microsoft Store do not list native co-op, PvP, LAN play, split-screen, or dedicated servers for the Early Access release.

Current Official Store Status

Steam lists Single-player and does not list Online Co-op, LAN Co-op, Online PvP, or Shared/Split Screen. GOG’s features list and the Microsoft/Xbox capabilities field also list only Single player.

These three official storefronts provide the best current answer: the base Early Access game does not advertise multiplayer.

Co-op, Servers, and Cross-Play

Because no native multiplayer mode is listed, there is no confirmed official co-op lobby, dedicated server package, or cross-play path between Steam, GOG, and Game Pass players.

Steam Workshop support means the game accepts user-created content. It does not, by itself, add networking to the base game.

What the Developer Said

During the 2025 Demo, developer Lantto said multiplayer was “in the backlog” and explained that synchronizing a falling-sand simulation is difficult. This shows that multiplayer was considered, but it is not a roadmap commitment, feature announcement, or release date.

Avoid turning the old reply into either “multiplayer is coming soon” or “multiplayer will never happen.” Neither conclusion is supported.

What Is Sandustry Together?

Sandustry Together appears in the FluxLoader/Demo community directory as an experimental third-party multiplayer project. It is not an official Lantto Games or Hooded Horse multiplayer mode, and Demo-era compatibility does not establish that it works with Early Access.

Checking Future Updates

Watch the official Steam news, Discord, and Reddit for an explicit feature announcement. Store capability lists should also change if official multiplayer ships.
